On September 12, worship services and the Second Sunday potluck will introduce a new 40-week worship emphasis entitled “Stories Alive! Narratives Around the Table.” The emphasis comes out of WCF’s worship grant from the Calvin Institute for Christian Worship, with funds provided by the Lilly Endowment. There will be a preview of the fall Sunday School class taught by Rich Gathro, “A River Created by Many Streams: Drinking Deeply from the Traditions.” For the potluck, please bring a dish to share from your family or church tradition; last names beginning with A-I fruit or dessert; J-R a main dish; S-Z salad or side dish.

The signup form for the 2010 All-Church Retreat is now online. The retreat will be held at the Skycroft Conference Center in Middletown, Maryland September 25-26, 2010, and will feature guest speakers Myron and Esther Augsburger. The theme is “Ready, Set, Blitz – Coming to the Table, Being at the Table and Going from the Table.” There will be time to reflect on our heritage and to look forward to our future. Programs for children and youth will also be available, and we will have the always fun and unique WCF Talent Show on Saturday night!
