The Healing Ministry at Washington Community Fellowship invites you to times of public prayer.

On the first and third Sundays of each month, WCF's Healing Prayer Team is available to pray with you on the platform during communion.

The healing prayer offered "at the communion rail" is for both specific concerns and to promote the work of God more generally in our lives. So, whether you want prayer for healing (emotional, physical, or spiritual), or prayer for personal or relational concerns, we're here to support you.

Often we are aware of a need but have difficulty in expressing it. Please don't let that stop you from receiving prayer. The Lord is our intercessor and healer.

This opportunity for prayer is available for all: church members and visitors are invited to come forward.

Another opportunity, Second Sunday Prayer, is open to anyone wanting an extended prayer focus. Join the prayer team at 9 AM in the church office for teaching and prayer.

Please join us in this work. If you have questions, comments, or concerns, speak to a member of the Healing Prayer Leadership Team (Curt Thompson, Margot Eyring and Brent Orrell), or contact Ariel Schwarz: 202-365-1113 or arielschwarz@yahoo.com.

These are basic thoughts of the Ministry:

  • Healing is an ordinary, not extraordinary, aspect of Christian life. Because we all suffer in our bodies, minds and spirits, healing prayer can be an encouragement, aid and support for all believers at any time.
  • All concerns and needs shared with the healing prayer teams are strictly private and will be held in confidence; except at your request.
  • Healing is transacted between God and the individual. What to expect when you come for prayer:
  • The team will typically ask if you would like to be anointed with oil and if hands may be laid on you. You are welcome to accept or refuse either offer.
  • When you come to the healing prayer team, do not feel compelled to divulge private information. You are free to speak only what you want to share, what is on your heart—or just come for prayer.
  • If you don't express a particular need or concern, the team will offer a simple blessing drawn from the Book of Common Prayer without further comment.
  • You are always welcome to times of prayer, whether you have been present for every opportunity in the past or have never come before. Please take time to share in God's blessing.
