Purposes/Goals:

1. To know Jesus better and understand more fully what it means to follow
2. To integrate scholarship with devotion, observation with application and discipline with freedom while exploring the gospel of Mark

• January 15:  Meeting Mark, young man, follower, streaker, apostle, missionary, mediator, author, evangelist, martyr
  Scriptures: Mark 1 (excerpts), Mark 4: 21-23, Acts 12:24-13:13 (excerpts), Mark 14:51-52, Mark 16:1-7
• January 22:  Meeting Ourselves: The Struggle between Self and Cross on the Way to the Kingdom of God
  Scriptures: Mark 8:27-10:52
• January 29: Meeting Jesus and the Widow
  Scriptures: Mark 12:41-44
• February 5: Meeting Jesus and the Man with a Shriveled Hand on the Sabbath (and his accusers who after the healing, plot to kill Jesus)
  Scriptures: Mark 3:1-6
• February 12: Meeting Jesus and the Dead Girl and the Sick Woman
  Scriptures: Mark 5:21-43
• February 19: Meeting Jesus and the Paralyzed Man (and his four helpers)
  Scriptures: Mark 2:1-12
