DESCRIPTION:Hagar. Adam and Eve. Joseph. Moses. There are so many moments i
n Scripture where being seen and known by God — and by others — change
s everything. But these characters are not simple. They each meet with gri
ef\, uncertainty\, and injustice. Yet each of them experiences the compass
ionate love of God throughout their stories.\nThis year’s retreat invite
s us to arrive exactly as we are\, with whatever we are carrying\, and to
make space to notice God’s loving presence with us. Beginning with the q
uestion\, “Where have you come from?”\, we will reflect on our own sto
ries and what we bring into this weekend\, trusting that God sees and know
s us fully.\nAs we move toward “Where are you?” and “Where are you g
oing?”\, we will create space to notice where God is present in our live
s and community\, to receive God’s love without needing to have everythi
ng figured out\, and to listen for where God may be inviting us next. Thro
ugh storytelling\, embodied reflection\, and conversation with one another
\, we will explore what it means to be fully seen\, known\, and loved by t
he God who is forming us.\nWe invite you to come with this prayer in your
heart: Lord\, help me to receive your loving gaze.
