Kate Lawson-Hedger moved to the DC area to seek justice in the nonprofit sector and recently completed a Master of Arts at Virginia Theological Seminary. She is passionate about nurturing the faith of the next generation, integrating spirituality and anthropology, and journeying with God to care for the Earth and all its people, especially the vulnerable and marginalized.
Born and raised along a river in the Chicago area, Kate relocated to the oceanside to study cross cultural communication and ministry at Palm Beach Atlantic University in South Florida. She has worked in children’s faith formation throughout the years, from a camp in the Alaskan wilderness to, most recently, a church in Arlington. She enjoys learning and gardening and is particularly talented at reading just the first 20 pages of various books. She and her husband Joey spend much of their time playing with their most adorable of all dogs, Bibi.
