We have an opportunity to worship together a little differently on the second Sunday of Advent. In preparation for receiving new members at WCF and to transition to our congregational meeting smoothly, we invite you to hop on to a zoom call during the service as we worship.

At WCF, receiving new members is something that we want to honor and celebrate as a community. While live-streaming to YouTube has been a wonderful way to engage in worship, the platform limits our ability to interact and see one another.

This Sunday, you will be able to watch the worship service via a zoom call (or dial-in to listen if you prefer) and see other fellow worshippers as you do so. The service will still be broadcast on YouTube, but we recommend that you don't run both YouTube and zoom at the same time. Towards the end of the service, we hope as many people will hop on to the zoom call to receive and affirm our new members.

Frequently Asked Questions:
  1. What's the link to the zoom call? zoom.us/j/254164240
  2. Will my identity or name be distributed on the internet? The only portion of the service where that may take place is when we ask you as a congregation to affirm the reception of the new members. Otherwise, zoom participants will not be recorded and distributed on the internet. While we hope that all WCF community members will be able to welcome our new members, we understand if you choose to hide your video and your name during that portion of the service.
  3. How will the congregational meeting be conducted? At the conclusion of the service, the YouTube stream will stop and the congregational meeting will be convened on zoom exclusively. Members will be emailed a link to a form to submit their ballots.
  4. Can I join the congregational meeting if I'm not a member? Yes, all are welcome to view the meeting, but voting is limited to official members of WCF.
  5. I (or someone I know) is unable to participate in the congregational meeting. How can my vote count? If you, or someone you know, needs assistance in submitting your vote, please contact elders@wcfchurch.org.
I look forward to worshipping together with you this Sunday as we continue our Advent series "On the Road" framed around the texts: Isaiah 40:1-11; Psalm 85:1-2, 8-13; 2 Peter 3:8-15a; Mark 1:1-8.

Join the 3D dialogue at 11:30 following the congregational meeting to explore these texts and the message further in community with others.

Grace and peace,

Pastor Andrew Cheung
