Born in America to Hong Kong immigrants and raised in Canada, Andrew has spent most of his life as a bridger of cultures. After studying to become a Mechanical Engineer and working as an airline operations analyst, he went on to complete a Master of Divinity at Regent College and graduated from the Arrow Leadership program. Prior to arriving at Washington Community Fellowship, Andrew served as a staff pastor in a variety of Protestant church traditions - hence, his self-identification as a “spiritual mutt within Christian orthodoxy.” A constant learner, he enjoys conversations with almost anyone about almost anything. Most of all, he loves to look for glimmers of God’s grace in the lives of people.
Andrew and his wife Julia, a marketing professional, are often seen cruising on their bikes enjoying the sights and cuisines of DC. Together with their teenage and college-age children (Evan and Ashley, respectively), they can be found bouldering in rock-climbing gyms and discovering new outdoor adventures.
Andrew also serves on the Racial Justice Task Force for the Virginia Mennonite Conference (Mennonite Church USA) as well as being a board member for Evangelicals 4 Justice.
